The Ministry of Health and Prevention in the UAE is blaming social and family gatherings for why the country is seeing an alarming increase in Covid-19 cases.
The reported cases have soared in the last four days: 210 (Sunday), 229 (Monday), 365 (Tuesday), and 435 (Wednesday).
Dr. Shaza Mohammed, family medicine specialist at Medcare Medical Centre Al Barsha told Khaleej Times that she is not sure why people become more complacent when Covid-19 has not gone yet.
"The restrictions have eased, but the risk of infection is still there," he added.
Experts urged the public not to be overconfident about having the pandemic under control as everyone also need to exercise all precautions as before.
