All passengers entering Philippine airports starting November 28 are mandated to download and register an account in a contact tracing app.
In a Facebook post, according to CIA all airport passengers entering the airport need to download TRAZE Contact Tracing App which is available both in Apple’s App Store and Android’s PlayStore.
How to register?
1. Download the TRAZE app from your mobile store and install it on your mobile phone.
2. Open the app and click the ‘Register’ button below. Register as ‘Individual’.
3. Follow the instructions indicated in the app and input the needed information.
4. Activate your account.
Those passengers who don’t have smartphones are advised to the Malasakit or Traze Helpdesk at the airport where they will be provided assistance in getting a unique QR code.
The QR code can be used at any DOTr Office nationwide.
The TRAZE app is co-developed by the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) and Cosmotech Philippines, Inc. This enables the government’s contact tracing efforts to be strengthened and be more efficient.
With the use of the app, the contact tracing can be done in just a few minutes, unlike the traditional process.
