The Migrant Worker Office (MWO) in Dubai and Northern Emirates issued an advisory on Monday, July 31, 2023, regarding the pilot test run of the new DMW Mobile app and the OFW Pass, which is set to replace the traditional Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC).
The UAE has been chosen as one of the ten countries to participate in the testing of this new mobile app.
In their official statement, MWO Dubai advised all Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) to update the DMW App on the Play Store (for Android users) or the App Store (for iOS users) and to ensure they check their spam folders diligently in order to receive the one-time password authentication code.
"With a significant number of OFWs eager to try out and utilize the Mobile App during its pilot test run, we would like to inform everyone that the server response time may be slower or there may be delays in processing applications for the OFW Pass," the advisory noted.
The MWO assured the OFWs that they are already working to address this issue, aiming to expedite the process of obtaining the OFW Pass, making it faster and more convenient for applicants.
The DMW Mobile app and the OFW Pass aim to streamline and modernize the documentation process for Filipino workers in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. By replacing the traditional Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC), this new digital solution is expected to provide more efficiency and accessibility for OFWs.
