Dubai International Airport has introduced new children's passport control counters in the arrival halls of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, expanding the successful initiative that was launched in Terminal 3 during Eid Al Fitr. The unveiling of the counters coincided with the eve of Eid Al Adha and aims to create a memorable experience for young travelers while fostering cultural ties.
The initiative allows children to actively participate in the passport stamping process, giving them a hands-on experience that leaves a lasting impression. Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, the Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, visited the airport to witness the progress of the work in the passport control area.
During his inspection, Al Marri observed the various mechanisms and the readiness of the airport, noting the rapid response times and the high standards of innovative international services. He also reviewed the preparations made by the technical and support teams to handle the expected high passenger traffic during the Eid Al Adha period.
The children's passport counters are visually captivating, featuring an exquisite blend of traditional Emirati heritage and modern elements that reflect the emirate's ongoing cultural renaissance. The counters display drawings of camels adorned with astronauts, symbolizing the harmonious combination of historical roots and technological advancements. The counters' floors are adorned with welcoming phrases in multiple languages and vibrant colors, aiming to resonate with the diverse backgrounds of the children passing through.
The success of the children's passport control counters during Eid Al Fitr prompted the authorities to expand the service to Terminals 1 and 2. During Eid Al Fitr, a total of 10,423 children availed themselves of this unique service in Terminal 3. The introduction of these counters in more terminals will ensure that a larger number of young passengers can enjoy this engaging and educational experience.
The new initiative at Dubai International Airport exemplifies the city's commitment to providing innovative services and enhancing passenger experiences. The introduction of children's passport control counters not only streamlines the immigration process but also instills a sense of excitement and curiosity in young travelers, leaving them with fond memories of their visit to Dubai.
