Dubai Police have confiscated 23 vehicles after their drivers were caught obscuring or tampering with license plates to evade traffic cameras and enforcement devices. Some used chemicals, bent plates, or applied stickers to avoid detection.
One driver, seen in a viral video, was caught removing his plate while committing serious violations, including running a red light and speeding over 190 km/h. Another was arrested for using a chemical spray to alter digits on his plate.
Authorities warn that offenders face heavy penalties, with fines reaching up to Dh50,000 for vehicle release under Decree No. 30 of 2023.
