Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has honored 101 taxi drivers for their honesty and integrity in handling valuable lost and found items from January 2022 to March 2023. Among the returned items were a bag containing diamonds worth Dh1 million, Dh3.6 million in cash, gold worth Dh200,000, and luxury watches valued at tens of thousands of dollars.
Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of the Public Transport Agency, RTA, commended the drivers for setting excellent examples of honesty, integrity, good manners, and responsibility. He emphasized that such actions contribute to a positive image of Dubai’s transportation systems and reflect the emirate’s commitment to its guests and residents.
The RTA regularly honors upright drivers to encourage and reward their honesty and high ethical standards. Bahrozyan stated that the drivers’ actions “elevate the standard of the taxi service in the emirate and underscore Dubai’s commitment to guests and residents in line with its reputation as the world’s happiest city.”
Public transport users in Dubai expressed immense gratitude for the prompt return of their lost items and praised the drivers for their commendable conduct. This display of good morals not only highlights the drivers’ integrity but also casts a positive light on their workplace and the city of Dubai.
