Starting September 2025, all private schools and early childhood centers in Dubai must provide Arabic language education for children up to six years old, according to the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).

The policy aims to make Arabic learning more engaging and culturally enriching, ensuring that both native and non-native speakers develop a strong connection to the UAE’s heritage. Schools must dedicate at least one-third of instructional time to Arabic, with qualified teachers and interactive learning models.

KHDA has also updated national mandatory subjects—including Arabic, Islamic Education, Social Studies, and Moral Education—for students from Grade 1 to Grade 12 in Dubai’s private schools. These changes take effect from September 2025 for schools starting in September and April 2026 for those starting in April.
