Passengers arriving at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 can now enjoy easier pickups as the main arrival curbside, previously reserved for VIPs, is now accessible to everyone.
The airport’s private operator, New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC), announced this change as part of its efforts to improve traffic flow and passenger convenience. The newly reconfigured pickup system includes 14 loading bays—A1 to A14—designed for private vehicles, ride-hailing services, and metered taxis. Bays A8 and A9 cater to persons with disabilities (PWDs), while Bays A11 and A12 remain reserved for VIPs. Hotel pickups will use Bays A13 and A14.
The outer curbside, labeled B1 to B6, will serve as an additional pickup area, featuring a "Meet and Greet Area" with Grab ride-hailing booths. Meanwhile, Rent-A-Car services, coupon taxis, and yellow metered taxis are relocated to the ground-level arrival extension area to ease congestion.
Directional signage and airport personnel are stationed throughout the terminal to guide passengers and drivers. The Terminal Transfer shuttle bus will also operate from this area, providing convenient inter-terminal transportation.
NNIC, which began managing NAIA on September 14 after securing a 15-year contract, said the new system is still in its soft launch phase as they fine-tune operations for a smoother experience.
