The Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine has arrived late last night and many residents are already inquiring on how to get inoculated with the vaccine.
As announced by the Ministry of Health and Prevention, the country will roll it out on Wednesday.
According to the health authorities’ hotline, this is Phase I of the vaccination campaign. It’s only meant for senior citizens and any individual suffering from chronic illness and is aged above 18.
Meanwhile, elderly residents in Dubai who have valid visas are eligible for the jab.
Residents who are interested to receive the vaccine are asked to take an online eligibility survey. Appointments will be confirmed only if they tick all the boxes.
Dubai-based expat Anirban Nandi told Khaleej Times that she called up the hotline number and was instructed to fill up a form based on which an individual is selected or rejected.
“The eligibility norms are being crossed-checked at the vaccination centres,” she added.
The vaccine is reportedly made available at four health centres in Dubai–Zabeel, Al Barsha, Nad Al Hammar, and Al Mamzar.
An official from the Dubai Health Authorities told Khaleej Times that those who want to get the jab need to appear on one of four designated areas and provide them with the Medical Record Number (MRN).
Those who don’t have the MRN yet are urged to email info@dha.gov.ae the photocopy of their Emirates ID, including both the front and back, and also mentioning the mobile number.
