Philippine Basketball's Rising Stars Set to Compete in Jordan Brand’s International Showdown

Filipino basketball players John Earl Medina and Gabby Ramos are set to compete in Paris, France, for the chance to become Jordan Brand's "The One." The one-on-one tournament will feature 20 men and women vying for the coveted title and the opportunity to become brand ambassadors.

Medina, a junior player at Manila’s Adamson University, and 17-year-old Gabby Ramos, a member of the U18 national women’s team Gilas Pilipinas, will represent the Philippines in this prestigious event.

“Basketball is very big in my city,” said Medina. “Everywhere you go, you see kids playing barefoot. That’s how passionate we Filipinos are about basketball. I’m excited to show what Philippine basketball is like to the world.”

Ramos echoed the excitement, saying, “I’m looking forward to having a great experience representing the flag; it’s an honor to be in such great company. It will be a very competitive environment, and we want to showcase what the Philippines has to offer in basketball. We stand with the best of the best around the world and can show people what we’re made of.”

The tournament's qualifying rounds took place in cities such as Manila, Shanghai, Los Angeles, New York, and Paris. The 20 players will compete for a spot in the Finals bracket, followed by an advance or knockout play to determine the male and female winners. The champions will embark on a year-long partnership with the iconic shoe brand.
