The Philippine Consul General in Dubai is preparing for the next batch of Filipinos seeking to be repatriated back to the Philippines.
“On June 1, we were able to repatriate 365 Filipinos and we continue to receive requests for repatriation,” Consul General Paul Raymund Cortes told Gulf News.
He said that those who are planning to be part of the program are advised to email them at atn@pcgdubai.ae.
Those who are planning to avail of the repatriation program must decide to be repatriated once they submit their application. Cancellation of requests or rebooking of flights is not allowed, except in emergency situations.
If an applicant lost his or her passport, he or she needs to get a police report. They should also secure required documents for travel, including medical certificates, fit-to-travel, among others.
Applicants may fill an application form online and will be prompted to upload required files and submit a form.
On June 3, the Philippine Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) announced that all repatriates are required to present negative PCR test result for Covid-19 prior to their flight.
“In case of Philippine government-organised repatriation, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration shall conduct prior coordination with each other, and with the Department of Health — Bureau of Quarantine (DOH-BOQ), Department of Transportation (DOTr) and its One-Stop Shop and Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, and the National Task Force Against COVID-19 Task Group for the Management of Returning Overseas Filipinos at least 48 hours prior to the departure from the country of origin,” the memorandum read.
