A Filipina nurse, who had only recently moved to Abu Dhabi, tragically died in a car accident on Sunday, as confirmed by her employer. The 30-year-old nurse arrived in the UAE in August and had been working at Al Raiaa Home Health Care.

In a Khaleej Times report, the Philippine Embassy confirmed the incident and assured that they are coordinating with the nurse's family. “Our Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Abu Dhabi is working on the case and has been in touch with her family,” the embassy said in a statement.

According to her employer, the nurse had completed her Saturday shift, but failed to report for duty on Sunday. Efforts to contact her through her accommodation and friends were unsuccessful. By Monday, her employer learned that she had died in a car accident the previous night.

Condolences have poured in on social media, especially in groups dedicated to Filipino nurses in the UAE. "Her saddened and heartbreaking death has left us devastated," wrote Esmer Pariñas.

Ronald Gamiao, president of the Filipino Nurses Association in Emirates, expressed his sympathies: "We are saddened by the loss of our fellow nurse in Abu Dhabi. Our deepest condolences to her family. Her company has coordinated with our government to handle the necessary matters."

Further details about the circumstances of the accident have not yet been released.
