The Philippine Embassy in the UAE has issued a reminder to all Filipino expatriates to register for overseas voting as the deadline for the 2025 National Elections draws near. In a social media post, the embassy emphasized the importance of participation in the democratic process and encouraged Filipinos to ensure their registration before the deadline on September 30, 2024.
"Kabayan, just 1 month to go before registration for overseas voting ends. Don’t miss your chance to exercise your right to vote!" the post stated. It urged Filipinos residing in the UAE to visit the Philippine Embassy or the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai to register and participate in the upcoming elections.
To streamline the registration process, overseas registrants and applicants are encouraged to complete the registration form available online at irehistro.comelec.gov.ph/ovf1. After filling out the form, applicants need to submit it to either the Philippine Embassy or the Consulate General to finalize their registration. The embassy also reminded registrants to bring a valid Philippine government-issued ID, such as a passport, when completing their registration.
Registration for overseas voting is available from Monday to Thursday, between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., and on Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
