Her Highness Sheikha Salama bint Hamdan Al Nahyan, wife of the UAE President, extended a warm welcome to Louise Araneta-Marcos, the First Lady of the Philippines, during her working visit to the UAE. The reception took place at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi and was attended by H.H. Sheikha Mariam bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairperson of the Presidential Court for National Projects and Chairperson of the Salama bint Hamdan Al Nahyan Foundation.
Sheikha Salama expressed her warmest welcome to Araneta-Marcos, wishing her a pleasant stay and a successful visit. The First Lady of the Philippines expressed her gratitude for the hospitality and her pleasure at being in the UAE.
The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between the two countries in various fields, particularly culture, arts, and heritage. They also explored ways to enrich cultural and artistic landscapes, with an emphasis on early childhood development and human capital investment.
Sheikha Salama highlighted the UAE's commitment to culture, arts, and national heritage, emphasizing the nation's support for creative talents to elevate these sectors. She also briefed Araneta-Marcos on the UAE's efforts in women's empowerment, detailing the opportunities and support provided to enhance women's contributions to national development.
Araneta-Marcos praised the UAE's cultural and developmental progress and expressed admiration for Emirati women’s significant roles in nation-building. She commended Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak for her support of women and her humanitarian initiatives.
The meeting was attended by Sheikha Fakhra bint Khalifa bin Hamdan Al Nahyan and several other Sheikhas, female leaders, and members of the Philippine delegation.
