POLO Dubai To Launch Online Portal For Contract Verification Process For OFWs

A top official from the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Dubai announced that they will be launching an online portal wherein overseas Filipino workers (OFW) may soon attach their contract for verification purposes.

In an interview with The Filipino Channel, Labor Attache Atty. John Bautista said that they will soon launch the ‘pilot stage’ this month with limited number of participants.

“Gagawin natin ito para mas mapabilis ang ating proseso at mas marami tayong ma-serbisyuhan,” he said during the interview.

Bautista added that they will be announcing the complete details on their website this month on how to use the new system.

“We will give proper advisory para po ibigay ang tamang impormasyon para sa ating mga kababayan kung ano yung website, kung saan gagawin ito at lahat po ng proseso at alituntunin para sa mas maayos na pagsasawaga natin ng online verification. Maglalabas po kami ng advisory,” he further added.

Currently, all OFWs who wish to return to the Philippines are required to secure an overseas employment certificate (OEC). This document can only be acquired by being an Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) member. To be a member, one should have his or her employment contract verified by the POLO.

In an advisory shared with The Global Filipino Magazine earlier, the POLO Dubai office noted that it will be consolidating contract verification and OWWA membership application as one appointment with 250 appointment slots per day while the OEC, there will be 150 appointment slots per day.
