UAE May Introduce New Restrictions Including Overnight Curfew

The COVID-19 cases in the UAE have been rapidly increasing in the past five days, citing the latest statistics from the Ministry of Health and Prevention.

According to Salem Al-Zaabi, Acting Head of Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Prosecution at Public Prosecution, a new set of restrictions may be in place to help curb the spread of the new coronavirus in the country.

"We are prepared to face any developments under whatever circumstances," Al-Zaabi said.

Saif Al Dhahri, the spokesman of the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), said the government of the Gulf estate might re-enforce the national sterilization program, which had included a night-time curfew.

"This would be possible in certain areas where we observe high infection cases," he further added.
