The United Arab Emirates is in a state of mourning as it bids farewell to Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the brother of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Sheikh Saeed, who served as the representative of the Ruler of Abu Dhabi, passed away today after battling a health problem.
The news of his demise was confirmed by the Presidential Court, which promptly declared a three-day mourning period as a mark of respect for the late Sheikh Saeed. From Thursday, July 27, to the end of Saturday, July 29, the national flag will be flown at half-mast as the nation pays tribute to the departed soul.
The announcement of Sheikh Saeed’s health condition came on Saturday, July 22, when the Presidential Court issued a statement asking for prayers for his quick recovery. However, despite all efforts, his health condition worsened, leading to his passing today.
